After dabbling in other sports, Elena started running towards the end of middle school. Starting humbly with an agonizing twenty minute trot on her neighborhood bike path, she improved a lot over her prep career in Wisconsin and collegiate career at Northwestern, where she was the team’s top scorer her senior year. With GRC, Elena hopes to continue improving on her PRs and gain experience competing on the roads. Outside of running, Elena works as a social scientist for the Department of State.
